Another ferry bites the dust

This is just getting surreal.  The 144-car ferry Yakima is out of service leaving just one vessel on the Seattle-Bremerton run.  The Yakima smacked into the dock in Bremerton early this morning and began taking on water because of new damage to the hull.

Remember, the Yakima was pulled from service in the San Juan Islands late last month for the "calmer" waters on the Seattle-Bremerton run.  It also was being inspected every four hours because of hull issues.

UPDATE:  The Kitsap Sun is reporting that this morning's incident resulted in three new cracks on the hull of the Yakima.  Temporary fixes were put in place (duct tape and gum?) and the vessel is being towed to Eagle Harbor.
