The Freedom Foundation now has a statewide database of all the elected officials in Washington. We have compiled fragmented information from around the state and made a useful tool for you.
Because we have pulled all the precincts, taxing districts, elected officials and terms of office, we can pull unique reports based on any of this information.
Do you want to know which elected officials will be up for election in 2013 in your county? What about those who represent a certain taxing district? What positions will a person be eligible to run for based on the precinct they live in?
We can answer all of those questions and more.
How many elected offices are in Washington?
There are a multitude of offices within your locale that will have open seats or up for election this year. Many don’t realize how many offices are out there in which you could run. Actually, there are about 8,230 elected offices in the state of Washington, with 2817 vacant or up for election in 2013. With King County having the most elected officials, about 866, you can guarantee there will be open positions for this year’s election.
If you know anyone, or even yourself, that would be willing to run for office, spread the word and pursue it!
In the chart below, I have compiled data of how many elected offices and how many seats are open or up for election in 2013 in each county, to the best of my knowledge. The chart shows the most elected offices from highest to lowest, including the number of open offices or up for election this year (2013).
In the chart below, the data entered is the percentage of open seats or up for election this year, 2013, (blue) compared to the percentage of elections officials not up for election this year (red).
We can run custom reports for you. Please contact me at the Freedom Foundation. We are happy to help.
